Chris Valas

Chris Valas has over thirty-five years of experience in software development, operations, and management — including numerous successes in product development and scaling engineering capacity for startup and mid-stage ventures. Chris served as VP Engineering in eleven companies, usually in growth-stages. Expertise in organization transformation, operational execution, metrics and measurement, process streamlining, staff development, staff mentoring. Most recently he was Executive VP, Engineering, leading technical operations, team-building, and Agile transformation, with teams in the United States, Ukraine, Czechia, and India. Over the course of Chris’ career, he has led engineering teams delivering successful technologies into enterprise and government clients including NASA, Ford Motors, American Airlines, Sprint, AT&T, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, the GSA, Cisco, Intel, IBM, British Telecom, Telecom Italia, GlaxoSmithKline, the US Army, University of Maryland, AARP, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. When he’s not fixing operations and accelerating engineering organizations, he’s often found on a trout stream or cooking something interesting.
